Doulas are non-medical birth professionals who work to assist community members through all aspects of pregnancy, birth, and navigating reproductive options. This training certifies professionals to help clients be empowered in whatever choice is right for them, all while centering those often erased by other doula programs—survivors of trauma, BIPOC, and LGBTQ clients. First of all, let me say, WOW!!! Your course was fantastic!!! This is coming from someone who has participated in THREE doula courses. Speaking as a retired academic librarian, your mix of scholarly/peer-reviewed, primary sources, and video were wonderful. Although I had to take breaks in between doing the courses, I'm glad that I did because I had some experiences that fit right in with some of the examples that you used in your recordings before each course.
